Coach Vaughan-As we approach the end of the 12-week camp, both Colson and I are sad it is ending. As first time participants, we weren’t sure what to expect, but this camp has been nothing short of spectacular. In his 9 years of taking camps in 4 states coast to coast, I have never seen anything like the professionalism, attention to detail, passion, and performance improvement like what you and your staff provide. Simply put, this camp has transformed his skating and his presence on the ice. Across sports, though, I have never seen anything for kids at this quality level, in any sport.
More importantly though, you teach and connect with these kids. You teach about life, being a good teammate, a good person and how to function as a high performing adult. In this era where kids’ sports can be to the detriment of the kids, and they can often see the worst in adults, you teach a better way, and look out for the kids’ best interest. I personally look forward to the post-practice locker room discussions and I know Colson does as well. This is one of the things we will both miss the most. However, Colson has already told me he is in for next year, and is already looking forward to camp next year.
Regardless of what happens in tryouts, this camp has been a huge success for Colson and he has gained a tremendous amount from it both personally and in his hockey skills. I am not one to normally write to coaches or provide testimonials, but what you and your staff is doing is truly remarkable. I hope you have a great fall and winter and we look forward to seeing you again.

Vaughan, I just wanted to thank you for your time in putting on such a great camp this past summer. Christian has shown amazing gains in performance and confidence out on the ice and I am sure it will be a great season for him this year. I have recommended it to everyone that I know who has a kid playing youth hockey (except to our opponents...). The way you built up their sportsmanship as being just as important as their performance and work ethic to me was nothing short of amazing. They will all be better people as well as better athletes because of their time spent with you and your staff. Rest assured we will be back every year. Anyway I will try to keep this short as I am sure you must be very busy this time of year.

Hi Coach Vaughan and team. I just wanted to provide a quick update. Colson has stayed with his fitness program since camp ended as you helped him connect the dots between fitness and on-ice performance. Through vacation and through down time the workouts have continued. Its Tough, its Hard, its Amazing.... Great Job Pro Edge! My two sons, who are 11 and 8 years old loved your battle camp. I was a little worried because one was quite a bit smaller than the rest of the group, but he loved it. (especially his torn shirt!). I can't thank you enough for your excellent instruction and insight into the game of hockey. You will be seeing both boys next spring at your Pro-Edge camp. Thank you again, D Hall There is not another program around that gives these Athletes the skills this one does. Nothing Compares to the effort Vaughan and his Instructors demand. Accountability IS PRO EDGE. The VERY BEST money spent in his hockey development. I have never seen a Skating program of this caliber anywhere, and I have traveled across North America for Hockey! Played hockey all my life.... I thought I knew... I realize now I knew very little. We will, of course, return, but will not recommend to others in case we have to compete for space. Just kidding ;) Pro Edge was a very beneficial camp for both of our boys. They were greatly challenged from the beginning and the fact that they never gave up allowed them a huge sense of accomplishment when the camp was over. They learned to push themselves and see the rewards of hard work. This was the most challenging camp the kids have ever participated in. I had No idea what was involved and how important this aspect is to the game, Thanks for sharing this with our Kids. |
No camp compares and we have most all of them. The commitment to your Athlete will shock even the most intense hockey parent. I have had the pleasure to work with Vaughan Rody as the Director of Fitness and Medical assisting the development of NHL Officials. Dating back from my professional playing days in Sweden, Europe to my Sports Medicine/Strength & Conditioning years with the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers, I have met very few individuals who pride themselves with striving to be the very best they can become! Vaughan has the "yard stick" with his extreme fitness and functional application in the areas of skating and skating movements. More, more, more.
