AN ENDORSEMENT FROM INSIDE THE GLASSI have known Vaughan Rody since October of 2000. It was his first year in the NHL as a linesman and I was just getting started in my new career as a broadcaster. A list of things stood out about Vaughan that were exceptional. His command of the NHL rule book , his pure strength and agility, and his ability to communicate in sometimes hostile situations and keep everyone calm. However it was his SPEED and POWER as a skater that caught my attention and helped allow him to have a career in the NHL that has thrived over almost two decades and continues strong.
Skating has become one of the most important tools a player has to have if he or she wants to go to the highest levels of the game. I really believe that Vaughan and his staff could help in so many different ways when it comes to growing a players ability to understand what it takes to be an elite hockey player.
